BLOOMINGTON GIVES

The following are local agencies whose missions align with eliminating homelessness in Monroe County. Links to their donation page (when available) have been included to assist our community in supporting them. The agencies listed may change over time.

Centerstone                                                          The community's core provider of behavioral health and addiction services in Bloomington and Monroe County. It "provides individuals and families the opportunity for recovery and health through research-based behavioral health and substance use disorder therapy, treatment, technology, outreach, direct client assistance and education."

 

Community Kitchen                                           The Community Kitchen works "to eliminate hunger in Monroe County and surrounding areas through direct service, education and advocacy."

 

Interfaith Winter Shelter                                   The shelter provides a low-barrier winter shelter for homeless individuals in Monroe County. "Our purpose is to offer a warm, safe place to those who have no place to go and do not meet admission requirements for other shelter sites in this community."

LIFEDesigns
LIFEDesigns works with people with disabilities and their families in south central Indiana. "We aim to facilitate active citizenship, fulfilling relationships, and rewarding employment through inclusive communities that foster dignity and respect."

Monroe County United Ministries                 Monroe County United Ministries creates lasting solutions to economic, educational and social injustice in our community through quality services, collaboration and innovation. Our vision is a community free of poverty and injustice.

New Hope Family Shelter, Inc.                        The shelter provides "temporary shelter for homeless families in Bloomington and Monroe County and, in collaboration with other agencies, to help those families regain housing by addressing the problems that led to homelessness."

Salvation Army                                                    The Salvation Army was founded with the basic social services principles of taking care of the physical and emotional needs of the hungry and homeless and remains an outward visible expression of the Army's strong religious principles, as described in our International Mission Statement.

Shalom Center                                              Shalom Community Center envisions a community that honors every person's fundamental right to sustenance, a safe home, quality health care, and meaningful work.

Stepping Stones                                       Stepping Stones offers transitional housing and supportive services to youth between the ages of 16-20 experiencing homelessness. Stepping Stones is now a program of Centerstone. Donations can be made to Centerstone and designated to go towards the Stepping Stones program.

Volunteers In Medicine                                         A free health clinic offering medical services to low-income individuals within Monroe County.

Wheeler Mission Ministries                          "Wheeler is a non-denominational, Christian, social services organization, which provides critically needed goods and services to the homeless, poor, and needy of central Indiana without regard to race, color, sexual orientation, creed, national origin, or religion."
